Enterprise Database Services

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) offers database consulting services for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases.

Benefits to departments include:

  • Eliminates the need for departments to maintain expensive database consultant contracts.
  • Provides resources and capabilities that some departments may not be able to individually afford.
  • Reduces the need for database-related training for departmental IT staff, allowing units to focus professional development resources in other areas.
  • Increases time and resources available for departmental IT staff to devote to user support issues.

Service Description:

The enterprise database consulting service provides departments the ability to administer their databases to best suit their needs. These are some tasks that can be performed by OIT DBA administrators:

  • Health check of database with report
  • Upgrade/patch databases
  • Solving database problems
  • Erwin diagrams and database design
  • Data manipulation with SQL

EDBS will support the following databases:

Supported Databases Version
Oracle Enterprise Edition 9,10, and 11
Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008
MySQL 5.1

Service Pricing:

Charges for the database consulting service consist of an hourly fee.

Consulting Fee:

Database services’ consulting is billed at a standard hourly rate of $60.
