DEANS is a function-rich
system which provides its users with electronic mail as well as
access to a wide variety of student information via ADVISE. Below
is a list of the functions offered by DEANS and ADVISE.
- View student information,
including personal data; current and historic courses; transfer
credit; and test scores such as SAT, TSWE, GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, and
math placement at UMCP.
- Search
and select students that satisfy specific personal and/or
academic criteria.
- Create customized
reports of selected students.
- Produce address labels
and mail merges to correspond with selected students.
- Send Email to selected
students (requires additional department authorization).
- Access students scheduled
to attend Orientation.
- Extract random samples
of students based on selection criteria.
- Produce class lists
for the current and early registration semesters.
- Send Email to students
for selected classlists (requires additional department authorization).
- View registration
wait list status by section or by individual student.
- View transfer course
equivalencies at many other institutions, and conversely retrieve
those institutions (by state if desired) offering the equivalent
of specified courses at UMCP.
- Produce a summary
of statistics on a selected student population; distributions
by ethnicity, gender, scores, and many other factors are included.
- Access the electronic
faculty/staff phone directory.
