Business Continuity Planning

|

The OIT Business Continuity Management Program starts with the priority services and processes established by the university, and links them to the information technology assets required to support them. This program establishes the levels of staffing, skills, facilities, and services that would be necessary to provide immediate emergency support, as well as the levels needed to restore operations in a timely way.

Each component plan is tested, reviewed, and updated annually.

The components of our plan build on each other:

Risk Management Plan: identifies areas of vulnerability, in terms of chance of failure and subsequent impact -- and suggests means where some of the risk can be reduced.

Emergency Operation Plan: describes what we'll do to provide for general safety and the protection those IT services in the immediate aftermath of a failure.

Disaster Recovery Plan: is our longer term plan to rebuild and return to normal.
