The University of Maryland’s Research Data Center (RDC) is a co-location
facility managed by the Office of Information Technology and supported by the
university’s Facilities Management group. It offers an improved facility
infrastructure for non-OIT administered systems that would typically have to
reside in office or building space not designed for that purpose. Costs associated
with the installation of equipment in the space are the responsibility of the
equipment owner; however, significant economies of scale are achieved through
co-location.
