The Office of the Vice President and Chief Information Officer works
with the university community, corporate, government, and educational partners
to build a shared vision of the future as the University of Maryland plays a
major role in the development and deployment of innovative and collaborative
information technology initiatives.
Vice President and CIO: Dr. Jeffrey Huskamp
Academic Support provides leadership in the integration
of technology with pedagogy and research to meet the academic mission of the
university. They do this by creating and supporting physical and virtual teaching,
learning, and research environments; by assisting those who use these environments
to not only meet their teaching, learning, or research goals, but also to be
innovative in the process; and by fostering relationships with key partners,
in formal
and informal settings.

Administrative and Enterprise Applications
designs, develops, and implements databases, data warehouses,
and enterprise application software in support of student,
administrative, and business processes.

Networking and Telecommunications Services
provides secure, reliable, cost effective, leading edge communications infrastructure
and services in support of the university's mission of research, teaching
and outreach.

Technical Services and Support supports
the university community with technical architecture, Web solutions, and
university-wide
computer services, including desktop, LAN, and UNIX support.

User Support Services enhances
the productivity of the university community and empowers our users by
making information
technology accessible. We
achieve this by providing a customer focused, single point of contact for
quality
IT services and technical support.
