Scheduling
the Teaching Theaters
There are several
levels of "priority" for use of the Teaching Theaters.
First priority goes to the courses that have been
selected through the application process to be scheduled in the
Teaching Theaters for the full semester.
Requests for
short sessions or courses that want to come in for only one or two
sessions are accepted throughout the
semester. These requests are only taken after the full semester
courses have been scheduled. These requests must be
submitted at least one week in advance of when they would like to
use the room. Faculty are encouraged to schedule at
least one month in advance if possible. They are scheduled on a
first-come first-serve basis and are contingent upon
staff and room availability. Activities are always scheduled as
tentative until the Room Coordinator can confirm the
availability of a student assistant to support the session.
If special
software is to be installed for these shorter sessions, the software
plus a copy of the software license must be
brought to the Coordinator at least two weeks in advance. This allows
time to install and test the software before use.
Although the
Teaching Theaters' main use is for teaching, we have the capability
to support an electronic meeting
environment. Through the use of a group decision support software
package (VisionQuest® by Intellect Corporation), we
are able to allow groups (both internal and external to the University)
to come and use the technology in a meeting
environment.
