Teaching Theaters at the University of Maryland
At the University we strive to provide our faculty with the tools they need to transform lectures and learning. The Teaching Theaters support this goal by providing faculty and students with technology-rich interactive facilities designed to enhance teaching and learning in a collaborative environment. The Teaching Theaters can also support the needs of campus researchers providing the necessary equipment and/or environment to collect data. There are four Teaching Theaters around campus equpped with the hardware and software to support the faculty's varied instructional goals from Internet-based simulations to distance education. During an average semester, these four facilities support more than 60 courses with approximately 1500-1800 students.
