What is Software Licensing Return and Exchange Policy?
In the majority of cases, all software sales are FINAL. We cannot ensure the software has not been installed or copied, and therefore cannot accept returns.
Return and Exchange FAQ
Software purchased through Software Licensing directly: (Institutional/Departmental)
- I received the wrong media, or the media is defective/broken.
Please contact our office to obtain the correct media at no charge, and return the defective media to us.
- I purchased the wrong software, version, or platform.
If the purchase was recent, please contact our office and we may be able to correct your order. This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
- The software is not compatible with my computer.
Customers are responsible for ensuring the software they wish to purchase will work on their computer. Most of our product pages list the system requirements and/or a link to the product manufacturer's page. Please read all this information and compare them to your computer before making a purchase.
- I no longer need the software, or never used it.
We cannot accept returns or issue refunds in this case. There is no way for us to know that the software was never used.
Software purchased through the Terrapin Technology Store: (Student/Personal)
- I received the wrong media, or the media is defective/broken.
Please bring the software package back to the Terrapin Technology Store. If you received the wrong media, the package must not have been opened in order to receive an exchange. No returns or exchanges can be made on opened or registered media UNLESS the media is defective or broken.
- I purchased the wrong software, version, or platform.
To avoid this problem, please ensure you know what you wish to purchase beforehand. In the event that you wish to return or exchange an item, the package must not have been opened in order to receive an exchange.
- The software is not compatible with my computer.

Unless there is a current upgrade promotion from the manufacturer, software sold at the Terrapin Technology Store do not come with upgrade guarantees. Contact the software manufacturer (ie: Adobe) directly to see if you may qualify for an upgrade.
