Microsoft Enterprise Agreement FAQs
Can faculty and staff take the software media home for Work At Home (WAH) use?
Under the campus agreement, faculty and staff have limited work-at-home rights at no extra charge other than the cost of media. Work-at-home rights permit the use of application, system upgrade, and CAL products on personally owned computers for work-related purposes only. Please check here for available products.
All Work At Home media can be purchased in person at the OIT Help Desk or Terrapin Technology Store. A valid University ID card must be shown to obtain software. This is media-only payment; you do not own the license.
Be advised of the following additional conditions for use of eligible Microsoft software under the Work At Home policy:
- The media is encrypted to allow only TWO INSTALLATIONS on the same CPU. Initial installation and one reinstallation, if needed.
- Every CD has a different keycode. If your code is lost, you cannot obtain another from our office.
- The software is not to be shared or loaned to friends, family and neighbors.
- The licenses are owned by the institution, therefore, use of the software must be
discontinued when the faculty and staff member leaves the employment of the
institution.
- Faculty and staff must use the WAH software ONLY for University work. Running a side business using the software, for instance, is prohibited.
