Courier runs:
- Mainframe output is printed at the A.V. Williams Building
and is delivered to Production Control at the top of every hour. Any special requests should be directed
to Production Control.
The Anatomy of output:
- Mainframe output has a banner page that includes the job name or userid at the top and
the job number below it. There is also a blocked section at the bottom containing print information like jobname,
job number, print class, and date/time printed.
- Output from CA-Dispatch displays 'DISPATCH' on the banner page. Maildrop and recipient information
will be on the second page.
- Each output has a header/banner page and a trailer page.
Shelving
Production Control maintains two sets of shelves: Production and User.
- Production shelves: output from the mainframe production jobs.
Production Control will distribute output based on the first three characters of the jobname or by the maildrop.
Please ask for assistance when picking up production output.
- User shelves: non-production output.
User shelves are located on the other side of the Production Control counter. If the first three
characters on the banner page/maildrop match any of the labeled production shelves, it is placed
with the production output. If not, it is filed on the user shelves using the the sixth character on the output.
Picking up output
- Output can be picked up from 08:00 - 17:00 in room 0120 of the Main Administration Building.
