To Use Your VoIP Phone to Look Up a Phone Number in the University
Directory and Place a Call:
- Press Menu.
- Press line feature button to the right of UMD Directory (or use arrow keys
to select it and then press OK).
- Down arrow to search field, when highlighted press OK.
- Cursor will start to blink, key in name using keypad.
- "A" would be key 2.
- Right arrow will create a space.
- If you make a mistake, press Bksp (backspace) or Clear.
- Partial names are OK (i.e., Ja Hop will find Jane Hopkins).
- Press DONE.
- Press SEARCH **may take a few seconds**.
- Down arrow to choose person and then press/select on the right using phone
button, circle will fill in with a dot; or press the line feature button to
the right.
- Press Call.
Any customized feature on the phone is contingent on having the proper software/firmware
files. If you cannot use the Directory, unplug/replug (using blue Ethernet cord)
your phone. This will download the most current software/firmware files.
