Abbreviated Dialing
Abbreviated dialing allows
you to store selected phone numbers for quick and easy dialing. Each telephone
number can be dialed by using a two-digit code. Stored numbers may be up to
24 digits in length.
NOTE:
Users are assigned one type of list, either Group or Personal.
To program:
- Press the PROGRAM button or dial * 0 .
Dial the number associated with
the List that you are programming, i.e.:
- Press 1 for a Personal List
(Personal Lists may have up to 15 members), or
- Press 2 for a Group List (Group Lists may have up to 30 members).
- Dial the item number in your list that you wish to program:
- Dial 01 through 15 for Personal List.
- Dial 01 through 30 for Group List.
- Dial the telephone number to be stored on that item number. (Remember to
dial 9 and the area code if you are programming an off-campus telephone number.)
- Press the Pound Key (#).
To access:
- Lift the handset or press SPEAKER.
- Press the List button (either
Personal or Group).
- Dial the item number of the telephone
number that you wish to call.
Consult
Consult allows
your to speak privately to the intended recipient on a call received through
call coverage.
- Press
TRANSFER. Caller is put on hold.
- Press
CONSULT. Speak with the intended recipient.
- If,
after the consultation, the intended recipient decides to take the call press
TRANSFER and hang up.
- If,
after the consultation, the intended recipient cannot take the call, press the
CALL APPEARANCE.
The caller is reconnected to you. Talk with the caller.
Automatic Dialing
Your phone can be programmed
to have Automatic Dial buttons. Each AD button will dial one telephone number
up to 20 digits long.
To
program:
- Press the PROGRAM button or dial * 0 .
- Press the AD button you wish to program.
- Dial the telephone number you wish the AD button to dial, up
to 24 digits (remember to dial 9 first if it is an off-campus number).
- Confirm by pressing the AD button you have programmed.
To access:
- Press the AD button. Your set will automatically be put on speaker
and the number will be dialed.
Call Forward
The Call Forward button allows
you to temporarily redirect all your incoming calls to another extension.
NOTE: If the telephone to which you have forwarded your calls does
not answer, the caller will be routed to your voice mailbox.
To activate:
- Press
the CALL FORWARD button or dial * 2 .
- Dial
the University extension to which you want your calls redirected.
- You
will hear a three-burst confirmation tone indicating successful activation.
To deactivate:
- Press
the CALL FORWARD button or dial # 2 .
- Incoming
calls will ring on your telephone.
Hold
Hold temporarily keeps a call
waiting for you to return. The party on the other end cannot hear you or background
noise. It allows you to place the handset on-hook without terminating the call.
To put a call on hold while you answer another call:
- Press the CALL APPEARANCE button of the ringing line. The first call will
automatically be placed on hold.
To return to the held
call:
- Press the CALL APPEARANCE button of the held call. To terminate either call,
you will need to press the DROP button while that call is active.
Conference
Conference allows up to six parties to participate in
the same call. Five of the six conference participants may be off-campus.
To add another party to a call:
- (X) Press CONFERENCE (this puts the original party on hold and selects an
open line).
- Dial the number of the next party (Remember to dial 9 and the area code
if you are calling an off-campus telephone number).
- Press CONFERENCE again to add the original party and all three will be joined.
- Repeat from (X) until all parties are added.
To add a call you have put
on hold to another call you are connected to:
- Press
CONFERENCE.
- Press
the CALL APPEARANCE button of the call on hold.
- Press
CONFERENCE again.
To drop the last person added to a conference:
Call Pickup
The Call Pickup button allows
anyone in a specified Call Pickup Group to answer an incoming call ringing on
another telephone in the group.
To answer a ringing telephone:
- Press
the CALL PICKUP button when you hear a telephone ringing in your group.
- The
speaker will be activated and the call retrieved.
To pickup a call while on another
call:
- Press
HOLD.
- Press
an idle CALL APPEARANCE button.
- Press
CALL PICKUP to speak to the new caller.
- When
call is completed, press the CALL APPEARANCE button of the
call on hold.
Redial
This button will activate the
speaker and automatically redial the last number dialed from your telephone.
To activate:
- Press LAST NUMBER or dial * 9 .
Inspect/Normal
This feature allows you to inspect a call ringing on another
call appearance while active on a call.
NOTE: This feature is for sets
that are equipped with a display.
To activate:
The display will show who is
calling on the ringing call appearance.
- Press
NORMAL to return your telephone to normal mode.
- Press
HOLD to put first caller on hold if you wish to access the second call.
Send
Calls
The Send Calls button is used when you do not want your telephone to ring and
want to send your calls directly to your Call Coverage Path.
To activate:
- Press
your SEND x-xxxx button. The send calls light will illuminate.
To deactivate:
- Press
your SEND x-xxxx button. The send calls light will go out.
Send
All Calls Override (SACO)
This button allows you to call a telephone that has the send calls feature activated.
- Press
SACO.
- Dial
the extension. (Your call will be put through with a three-burst priority ring).
Speaker
This is a two-way built-in speakerphone that allows you to make and answer calls
without lifting your handset.
To make or answer a call:
- Press
SPEAKER and adjust the volume if necessary.
To change from the speakerphone to the handset:
- Pick
up the handset and talk into it directly.
To change from the handset to the speakerphone:
- Press
SPEAKER and hang up the handset within 10 seconds.
Transfer
Allows you to transfer a caller
from one campus telephone to another.
To use:
- Press
TRANSFER.
- Dial
the extension where you want to transfer the call.
- Announce
the call.
- Press
TRANSFER again.
- Hang
up.
Transfer to Voice Mail
To redirect a call
to the principal user’s voice mailbox when answering a call through call coverage
or call pickup.
NOTE: The principal user must have voice mail.
- Press
TRANSFER.
- Dial
1 8 0 . Listen for ring, then press TRANSFER.
- Caller
is connected to the principal user’s mailbox.
Volume
This button, located
under the numeric dialing pad, allows you to adjust the volume of your ring
while your handset is on-hook and the volume of the caller or speakerphone while
off-hook.
To increase the volume: Press the
repeatedly.
To decrease the volume: Press
the
repeatedly.
