If you read your mail on WAM or Glue, or any system other than mail.umd.edu, do not reconfigure your Pine client!

The Mail@umd system will soon be using Mirapoint Messaging Service, which include two types of servers. These include Message Servers and Message Directors. The Message Directors accept incoming connections and direct the connection to the correct Message Server. Most e-mail clients will be configured to use mail.umd.edu, unfortunately, the Pine client uses a type of user authentication that is not supported by the Message Director and the connection must be made directly to the correct Message Server.

As a result, it is necessary to configure the Pine client differently, depending on which mail server hosts your account.

To determine the correct server and receive specific instructions, enter your Directory Id in the box, below.

All you need to do is to enter your Directory ID.
