Apple Demonstration/Development Lab

Considering Macintosh computer equipment for your department? Interested in testing your new applications in a Mac environment? Want to see if a Mac is the right computer for you? Take advantage of OIT's Apple Demonstration Lab to do your research.

Sponsored by OIT and Apple, Inc., the demonstration lab offers every laptop, desktop, and server in Apple's line for faculty and staff to examine, test, and try out. The lab is on the first floor of the Computer and Space Sciences Building near the OIT Help Desk and is open by appointment. Models are available for testing in the lab and for short term loan to examine in your own environment.

These products are available for trial:

  • MacBook Air
  • MacBook (white and black)
  • MacBook Pro 15" & 17"
  • iMac 20" & 24"
  • Mac Pro
  • Mac Mini
  • Apple Cinema Displays 20" & 23"
  • xServe
  • xServe RAID

One or more of these items may be out of the lab at any time for on-location testing by another department. Please e-mail appledemolab@umd.edu with questions, to find out about equipment availability and to schedule lab equipment use.
