The Museum Educational Site Licensing Project was jointly launched by the Getty Information Institute and MUSE Educational Media to define appropriate terms and conditions for educational use of digital reproductions on campus networks. This collaboration between museums and universities also provided an opportunity for both kinds of institutions to consider shared commitments to the preservation and interpretation of visual cultural heritage.
This material is restricted to local users at the University of Maryland, College Park under a cooperative agreement executed by all project participants.
The Museum Educational Site Licensing Project formally ended in July 1997. The final report, Delivering Digital Images: Cultural Heritage Resources for Education and accompanying perspectives volumne, Images Online: Perspectives on the Museum Education Site Licensing Project, can be ordered from Getty Trust Publications.
