Administrative Applications

Administrative applications refers to the centrally managed software systems that are used to support the day to day operation and management of the institution. They are typically integrated with other administrative applications and are distinguished from desktop applications such as spreadsheets, word-processing, etc.

Access to administrative applications is restricted. Please read the University of Maryland, Guidelines for the Acceptable Use of Computing Resources. Student information access is governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the University Policy on Disclosure of Student Records.

Administrative Resource Enterprise Services (ARES)

A wide variety of services are provided to campus faculty and staff through this one-stop-shop web page. Included are advising and grade services; financial accounting, budget and procurement information; and employee services such as address change, leave balance look-up, etc.

Academic Resource System (ARS)

The Academic Resource System (ARS) is an on-line computer system designed to process all aspects of the academic appointment procedure.

Interactive Web Services for Students (Testudo)

This one-stop-shopping page provides a wide variety of services to University of Maryland students. Included are services in Admissions, Registrations, and Financial Aid; tools to help students register for classes such as VENUS, SEATS and the Schedule of Classes; and information for parents.

Student Information System (SIS)

The Student Information System (SIS) provides automated processing and tracking of non-financial student information for the University of Maryland.
