Other Important Tips:

  • Text Colors/Number of Colors
    • Avoid light colored text
    • Avoid "electric" colors for narrative text
    • Dark colors = somber, formal tone - but too dark and you have "mud"
    • Light colors = inviting, warm, friendly tone - but too light and you have "white-out"
    • Use no more than 4 colors on a page
  • Background Colors
    • Very light gray, beige, yellow (pale) are acceptable
    • Avoid dark colors
    • Avoid patterned backgrounds
