OIT Manager Wins a Crime Prevention Award

Congratulations to Sue Clabaugh, manager of OIT’s Instructional Facilities group, who accepted a Governor’s Crime Prevention Award for her efforts to effectively secure the electronic resources in OIT’s approximately 150 technology classrooms. The university police submitted the nomination.

Some of the implemented theft deterrents include installing cages over ceiling-mounted projectors, using security screws in equipment racks, monitoring equipment over the Internet, and placing security cables and STOP tags on the equipment.

“As I see it, this is a reward for the efforts of the entire Instructional Facilities group,” said Sue.“The university has invested a lot of resources in upgrading classrooms so that faculty and students have access to the technologies they need. That's why my group takes very seriously its responsibility to protect that investment.”
