This year, the Office of
Information Technology improved the functionality of the Graduate Research Interaction
Day (GRID) Web site by adding an electronic abstract submission system. This
tool was added to the site to facilitate the submission, handling and organization
of abstracts sent to the GRID organizers as part of grad students’ request
to participate in the event. Other improvements were also made to the GRID site
to allow for better and easier administration.
GRID is an annual event sponsored by the Graduate Student Government (GSG)
to provide a competitive showcase in which graduate students present their scholarly
and creative research to the University of Maryland and its surrounding community.
“We are immensely grateful that OIT has helped the GSG by implementing
the GRID Web site. The Web site is streamlining all aspects of GRID, which is
the GSG's most important event,” said Laura Moore, Graduate Student Government
President. “OIT is doing something very positive for graduate students
by contributing time and effort to the GRID Web site. We very much appreciate
their support!”
