OIT telephone customers will now see a reduction in the amount they pay for local, domestic long distance, and international long distance service. OIT has renegotiated the telecommunications contracts for voice services and has restructured how telephone service is charged to campus users to achieve this reduction.

As a part of this new package, every outgoing local call (10-digit dialing not preceded by a "1") will be free. The new rates became effective on June 20, 2006 and will be first reflected on the July invoice. Also as part of this new package, more specific Caller ID information is being received and incoming caller name information is being shown on your telephone display in addition to incoming phone number.
