Lori Kasamatsu,
a member of OIT’s Office of Data Administration, led a webinar presentation
on the design and implementation of the university’s data warehouse as
it relates to human resources information.
The talk, entitled “A Perfect Match! The Data Warehouse & Human Resources
Partnership,” showcased the Department of University Human Resources’
(UHR) need to deliver reporting and management data from their Payroll/Human
Resources (PHR) System and how they partnered with the Office of Data Administration
to deliver comprehensive, user-friendly, Web-based data delivery. The presentation
included a brief comparison of the old HR system to the new PHR system, UHR’s
reporting needs, the project team composition and responsibilities, a behind
the scenes look at an actual query, and a demo of the user interface and report
suite.
Lori was an invited presenter at the webinar held on September 20, 2006, which
was sponsored by the International Association for Human Resource Information
Management Mid-Atlantic Chapter (IHRIM-MAC). IHRIM’s membership is made
up of HR technology professionals and the association serves as a clearinghouse
for the Human Resources Management System industry for knowledge, education,
and solutions supporting human capital management.
