   Spring 2001

plaNET UM The Office of Information Technology and Department of Meteorology team up again to create plaNET UM, where families can participate in hands-on activities illustrating information technology and earth system science.

Special for 2001: Antarctic Science Center
Join Antarctic scientists on a "cool" journey to the Great White South, see what it's like to live and work in Antartica's polar desert, and learn more about how Antartica holds clues to how the Earth's climate has varied in the past and how it might change in the future.

...and other information technology, meteorology, astronomy, oceanography, and earth system science demos and activities throughout the day!

Don't miss the plaNET UM Weather Balloons, our electronic eyes in the sky, beaming live data from high above plaNET UM.
