Computer Tutorial CD Available

By Margaret Turqman

Do you need to upgrade your computer skills but don't have the time to take a class? A self-paced tutorial CD called SmartForce Career Success 2000 is available for $20 from OIT Software Licensing.

The CD offers 29 separate tutorials designed specifically for students, faculty, and staff in the higher education community. These are broken down into three basic areas: Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office 2000, and Internet Technologies. Users can work their way from beginning to expert level, or jump to a specific area of interest.

Each interactive tutorial allows users to test their skills and to ask for help when needed. Realistic scenarios and simulations in each course make it quick and easy to learn all the features of the most popular software applications.

SmartForce produces this tutorial CD in partnership with the Corporation for Research and Educational Networking (CREN), a nonprofit higher education organization dedicated to helping members of the research and networking community take advantage of current technology quickly and effectively. The previous version of this CD was called the "Hands-on Tutor."

From basic Internet searching to advanced Microsoft Access, this CD has something to enhance skills at all levels. Career Success 2000 can help the university community use technology to its full potential.
