Registration for Office of Information Technology training programs (e.g., Institute for Instructional Technology, Short Courses) is performed through a new web-based program located at the Training at Maryland site.
From the UM Registration link below you will connect to the Training at Maryland homepage. Please refer to these instructions as you go through the registration process.
Are You New to Training at Maryland?
If you've never registered for a class at this site before follow the steps below.
- Click on the Login/Register tab at the top of the screen.
- Provide your University Directory ID and Password and click on the "Submit" button.
- Review your personal profile.
- When prompted for a payment method, select the "Self Pay" radio button. The IIT classes are free, and there will be no charge to you or your department; however, at this time, the system does not provide an option of no payment (we apologize for this and are working on a solution to the problem).
- Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the user profile form.
- Click on the Course Catalog tab in order to select the training organization (Institute for Instructional Technology) through which your course is listed.
- Click on the link associated with the course for which you'd like to register.
- Click on the Register for this Section link. You will be prompted to verify your Directory ID and Password once more; then you will be officially enrolled in the class.
You can register for multiple courses in the IIT repertoire.
Are You Returning to Training at Maryland?
If you've registered for other courses via
the Training at Maryland site or if you return to enroll in additional IIT classes, follow the steps below.
- Click on the Log In/Register tab when you first access the www.training.umd.edu homepage and enter your Directory ID and Password.
- Once your personal profile page is displayed, click on the Course Catalog tab in order to select the training organization (Institute for Instructional Technology) through which your course is listed.
- Click on the link associated with the course for which you'd like to register.
- Click on the Register for this Section link.

We apologize for any challenges this authentication process may cause.
In time, Directory authentication will be pervasive on campus; however,
we are
still at the beginning of the learning curve. Within the next two semesters
we hope to move all OIT, ORRA, and Personnel Services training registration to
this
system. Should you have any difficulties with the University Directory authentication
or www.training.umd.edu registration processes, do not hesitate to contact
