Top Ten Tasks for New Faculty Members

The Office of Information Technology is strongly committed to helping faculty use information technology to enhance teaching, learning, and research. To that end, services and resources are available to facilitate collaboration and communication between faculty, students, and peers; to enrich the learning experience in physical and online environments; to streamline administrative activities; and to foster professional development opportunities. In addition to the support provided by OIT staff in these areas, faculty in some colleges also have access to a Technology Officer who serves as a liaison between the college and OIT and represents faculty interests to both units.

First things first. When a faculty member first arrives at the University of Maryland a myriad of tasks await, including getting connected in order to access services, students, and peers. OIT's "Top Ten Technology Tasks" will have you communicating and productive in no time.
