The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the University Libraries
offer joint workshops each semester on learning to use bibliographic
software. This type of software can be used to collect references for
your research projects and generate properly formatted bibliographies in
the style required by your academic discipline. Bibliographic software
gives you the choice of typing your own entries or downloading citations
from on-line databases, the World Wide Web, and on-line library catalogs.
Iin addition, bibliographic software often comes with a feature which
makes it possible for you to cite while you write, enabling you to
concentrate on content as you use brief in-text citations to link directly
to your bibliography. For more information about bibliographic software
and training schedules please contact Diane Patrick (phone: 301.405.0307)
