DUTIES: The University of Maryland, College Park is seeking to fill the position of Network Integration/Software Engineer in the Office of Information Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for: planning, design, development, and integration of systems that are tightly coupled with the university's enterprise-wide converged communications infrastructure for data, voice, and video. Recommending and implementing software solutions and upgrades. Installing, configuring and maintaining servers hosting various network services, such as Web Application Servers, DNS, DHCP, database, file storage and backup.

QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible, the candidate must have the following: bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education. At least two years of experience working for a large enterprise within the area of network and/or software engineering. Ability to design and perform analysis of software systems, build Web applications, as well as, program in Perl and Java within UNIX and MS Windows environment are desirables. Working knowledge of MySQL, SQL Server and/or Oracle database are high desirables. Knowledge in network services/protocols such as DNS, DHCP, SNMP and Apache Web server are desirables. Experience in testing and debugging large and complex applications and systems is a desirable. Software integration in a network comprised of Cisco network data gear and Avaya VoIP devices is a desirable.
