STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications

DUTIES: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Finance
and Administration, the Business Manager will be responsible for the fiscal
management of operating departments within the Office of Information Technology.
The Business Manager will provide services such as: financial management (accounting
and reporting); cost control and avoidance; procurement and P-card maintenance;
problem identification and resolution; budget development; account monitoring
and reconciliation; project, grant, and contract management; and financial projections.
In addition, the incumbent will perform other administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least
two years of experience in managing administrative and financial tasks, financial
reporting, and monitoring budgets, projects, grants, and contracts, preferably
with a University System of Maryland or similar public institution(s). Must
have leadership and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve problems
and recommend solutions; the ability to handle multiple, complex tasks and prioritize
ongoing and new work assignments. Must possess skills and experience with internet
browsers, e-mail, and the entire Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Experience
with understanding and interpreting university policies and procedures in the
areas of finance, procurement, and asset management a plus. Strong verbal/written
communication and customer service skills required.
