IT Coordinator - Network Operations Center (3 positions) (115145)

STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications

DUTIES: There are 3 positions open. Responsible for monitoring
the health of the university's networks. Routine testing and analysis of all
elements of the network facilities (including power, software, network equipment,
remote, and broadband network equipment). Monitors and controls the performance
and status of the network resources. Utilizes software and hardware tools, which
will include identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting the network
performance. Examples of this are making changes in the the DNS (Domain Name
System), management of campus IP assignments. Some field work may be required.
Candidate will need to have coverage for the APC UPS systems (smart series)
and familiar with network interfaces for these devices. Hiring four positions,
two for each morning (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and afternoon (3:30 p.m. to midnight)
shifts, with future shift coverage of 24/7.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications for this position include a
bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
CCNA and CCNP preferred, but not required. One-three years of demonstrated experiece
in Enterprise Data Networks and/or IT helpdesk, and utilization of a network
management system is needed. Familiarity of wireless (802.11) authentication,
security and IOS, with both Cisco IOS software and Catalyst OS interfaces, and
with user level familiarity of UNIX OS. Knowledge with and coverage for the
campus Network Operations Center (NOC) call handling, trouble shooting, administration
systems (trouble ticket system (ITSM), open NMS, Work order system (TMS).
