DUTIES: The University of Maryland is seeking an energetic, team-oriented employee to install, customize, maintain and support zSeries hardware and software in a z/OS, CICS, CA-Datacom, and Oracle batch client environment. Technical support responsibilities include problem determination and resolution, disaster recovery preparation and testing, RACF security administration and audit reporting, data communications (SNA and TCP/IP) and DFSMS configuration. The incumbent will also monitor system performance, assist in capacity planning, and perform installation, maintenance and support for various ISV software utilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years' full-time experience as a system analyst working with the z/OS operating system in an enterprise environment. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting z/OS is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to diagnose and solve complex problems with the z/OS operating system and utilities. A strong working knowledge of TSO, ISPF, JCL, SMP/E, DFSMS, and RACF is required. The candidate must be detail oriented, have excellent time management and organizational skills, and will rely on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. The position has a 24x7 support requirement in a fault-intolerant environment. The incumbent must be willing, able, and available to participate in a regular on-call rotation, work a flexible schedule, and respond to off-hour emergencies when the need arises.
