DUTIES: The University of Maryland is seeking to fill the position of an IT Database Administrator within the Office of Information Technology. The position will serve as the junior database administrator for supporting Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Datacom/DB and MySQL databases and will be responsible for the planning, configuration, growth, backup/recovery and performance/tuning of these databases. The database administrator will be part of the Technical Services & Support unit and will work in conjunction with other DBAs to provide an integrated architecture to support application systems using Oracle, Datacom/DB, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator or Database Analyst. Candidates must have comprehensive working knowledge of database environments. The ability to code complex SQL statements and Oracle PL/SQL procedures is highly desirable. The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to work both independently and in a team environment; and being a flexible, highly motivated, and energetic person.
